Crawford Stewardship Project is grateful for the generous support of the Wisconsin Community Fund.

"CAFOs are only profitable because so much of the cost and damage is externalized onto the environment, neighbors and wildlife. The monitoring, supervision, clean-up, restitution, fines are not happening, thus the true cost of CAFOs never find the way onto the balance books." Talking point from the CAFO Conference.

Birds and Music

Saturday, February 19, 10:30am to about noon

Join DNR Forest Ecologist Mike Mossman in a presentation of bird and habitat surveys in the lower Wisconsin River and lower Kickapoo River on Saturday, February 19, 10:30. Location is at the lovely historic Maple Ridge Church located on Maple Ridge Rd, corner of County E just east of Steuben in Crawford County.

We will learn some astonishing news about breeding neo-tropical bird abundance in our area.

In addition, Mike Boehm will join the Mossman family in live acoustic music. The music is presented as a donation fundraiser for Veterans for Peace trip to Viet Nam and the Peace Park. This reconciliation project includes building schools, revolving loan funds, and support for agent orange victims as well as building good will, hope, and healing here and in Viet Nam.

This event is co-sponsored by the Kickapoo Initiative and Crawford Stewardship Project. All are invited and welcome. Contact Maggie Jones, 608-872-2297 for more information. Download Poster with directions
